The app for your Apple iPad or Apple iPhone can be found under the search term "CloudRain" in the Apple App Store. For your Android smartphone, the app in PlayStore is also under the keyword "CloudRain" to find.
Do I have to install the CloudRain Controller outside of the house?
The controller is splash-proof and can therefore be operated both outside and inside your home. It is important that the controller is in stable range of your WLAN. Just check this by checking the signal strength with your smartphone or tablet wherever possible. The controller should also be placed in good reach to the valves at the same time. Although the wireless range reaches up to 300m in open field, buildings, walls or the like can negatively affect the range.
How can I install the valves?
The valves are not stuck into the ground, but simply screwed to a garden faucet. No tools are needed for this.
Does CloudRain work without a water connection?
Alternatively to a water connection also a pump can be used. An additional pressure switch or alternatively a 24 VAC relay would have to be used for this purpose. For more information, please send us an email.
Can I buy the CloudRain Controller as a standalone device?
Yes, the controller can also be purchased and operated individually. You can use the CloudRain Controller to operate up to 5 pieces of wired 24 VAC. If no such valves already exist, we recommend using the CloudRain valves.
With how many zones can I irrigate the garden?
Up to 255 zones can be controlled via the CloudRain valves. A maximum of 5 pieces can be wired to the Controller.
What is the range of the CloudRain wireless valves to the CloudRain controller?
The CloudRain valves have a range of up to 300m in open field to the controller. Objects such as buildings, partitions, trees, etc. can reduce the range. For best reach, the Controller should be mounted at least 1.5m from the ground, e.g. outside on the house wall.
Do I have to set up zones?
The app will automatically set up a zone when you add your first valve so you can plan your first irrigation.
How can I upload images that show my zones?
Open the CloudRain app and tap the image or placeholder for each zone.
Can I use the ColudRain controller with my existing valves?
You can use the CloudRain Controller to operate up to 5 pieces of wired 24VAC. If no such valves already exist, we recommend using the CloudRain valves.

What if I do not have a garden but a balcony?
If you have a water connection on your balcony, you can simply screw the CloudRain valve to it and get started. If this is not the case, then a solution operated by a pump can be considered. However, CloudRain does not currently offer a ready-made solution.
Does the radio of the valves disturb my wifi?
No, the CloduRain valves work on a so-called sub-Ghz frequency, which will not disturb your wifi.

You can always start an irrigation via the app. In addition, you can also turn off the CloudRain Adaptive Watering automatic irrigation.
What is the algorithm - is it anything other than the dependence on the weather?
With CloudRain's Adaptive Watering, you can water your plants weather-friendly. The CloudRain system checks the current weather conditions before every irrigation. CloudRain uses information from different sources. It takes into account temperature, wind, hours of sunshine and humidity.
How is the app or the controller protected against access by third parties?
All CloudRain devices communicate encrypted at any time to the current standard. To the accesses are password protected with the app.
Does the valve have to be in the sun for it to work? Is battery operation also possible as an alternative?
The valve is designed so that even indirect sunlight in the shade is sufficient to operate the valve. If you are sure to be unsure, or no sun can reach the valve, the valve can be charged and operated via a power plug. Please contact us.

What happens if the wifi breaks off?
If your Wi-Fi or your Internet connection is interrupted or temporarily unavailable, the CloudRain system continues to irrigate. However in this case, no access via the app and no weather-friendly irrigation is possible.
Is it possible to set everything manually without an algorithm?
CloudRain Adaptive Watering can be turned off as well as adjusted to the needs of the zone. Please select in the app from the side menu "zones" and your desired zone.
How can I be sure that the CloudRain servers will continue to run in the longer term?
We guarantee the operation of the server for 10 years from the date of purchase.
